The IEBC is implementing the Election Security Arrangement Programme (ESAP) whose objective is to undertake election security coordination and management during the upcoming August 2022 elections. The IEBC is working in conjunction with the National Police Service, the Judiciary, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA), the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) and the civil society.
Tume ya kusimamia uchaguzi ya IEBC inatekeleza mfumo wa kiusalama maarufu kama ‘Election Security Arrangement Programme (ESAP)’. Lengo la ESAP ni kushughulikia na kuhakikisha uwepo wa usalama wakati wa uchaguzi mkuu wa Agosti 2022. IEBC inashirikiana na vitengo tofauti vya serikali and mashirika ya kijamii ikiwemo idara ya polisi, idara ya mahakama, tume ya utengano na uwiano (NCIC), mamlaka huru ya kuhakikisha uwajibikaji wa polisi (IPOA) na offisi ya usajili wa vyama vya kisiasa(ORPP). |

The IEBC has announced that it will solely rely on the digital voter register during the August general elections. According to the IEBC, the decision was informed by the desire to guard against malpractices associated with manual register. The malpractices include multiple voting, abnormal turn outs in areas considered strongholds and collusion by electoral officers to vote for those who did not appear.
Tume ya kusimamia uchaguzi ya IEBC imetangaza kuwa ni sajili ya kielektoriniki pekee itakayotumika wakati wa uchaguzi mkuu wa Agosti 2022. Kwa mujibu wa IEBC, uamuzi huo utasaidia pakubwa kupambana na udanganyifu unaotokana na kutumika kwa sajili isiyo ya kielektroniki. Udanganyifu huo ni ikiwemo kupiga kura zaidi ya mara moja na njama ya maafisa wa kusimamia uchaguzi kupigia kura wale wasiojitokeza siku ya uchaguzi. |

The IEBC has announced the completion and submission of the final audit report by the KPMG of the Register of Voters. The number of registered voters stand 22,120,458 whereas the number of polling stations stand at 46,232. The IEBC has also confirmed that all the deceased voters identified by the audit process have been removed from the register.
Tume ya kusimamia uchaguzi ya IEBC imetangaza kukamilika kwa ukaguzi wa sajili ya wapiga kura iliyokuwa ikifanywa na KPMG. IEBC imeshaipokea ripoti kamili ya ukaguzi huo unaonyesha kuwa idadi ya wapiga kura ni 22,120,458. Idadi ya vituo vya kupiga kura ni 46,232. Hali kadhalika, IEBC imedhibitisha kuwa wapiga kura wote walioripotiwa kufariki wameshaondolea kutoka kwa sajili hiyo. |

IEBC iliombwa kumfutilia mbali Polycarp Igathe kama mwaniaji wa kiti hicho kwa madai kuwa alihepa kutimiza majukumu yake kama Naibu wa Gavana mnamo Januari 2018. Kesi hiyo ilitupiliwa mbali kwa kukosa ushahidi. |

The IEBC Dispute Resolution Committee has dismissed a complaint lodged seeking to block Polycarp Igathe from vying for the Nairobi Governor position for allegedly abdicating duty as the Deputy Governor of Nairobi County in January 2018. The complaint was dismissed for lack of evidence. |
